St. Nicks Alliance (SNA)
St. Nicks Alliance seeks to positively influence school attendance and attachment, enthusiasm for learning, social-emotional skills, and academic and employment self-efficacy. By building steady progress in these areas, we equip young people to graduate from high school and acquire the essential skills for post-secondary success.
St. Nicks Alliance at PS 81, led by Program Director Scott Patterson and Assistant Program Director Amerie Ryan, is a cornerstone in the Bedford-Stuyvesant community, offering a comprehensive after-school enrichment programs for students in grades K-5. As part of the larger St. Nicks Alliance organization, which has served North Brooklyn since 1975 and began to service PS 81 in 2019, the PS 81 program is dedicated to fostering academic achievement, creativity, and social-emotional development.
Under the leadership of Scott Patterson and Amerie Ryan, the program provides a well-rounded curriculum that includes academic support, arts and cultural activities, STEM education, and physical fitness. With a strong focus on collaboration and personalized learning, the program ensures every child has the resources and encouragement to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
In addition to serving students and families, St. Nicks Alliance at PS 81 partners with Saycheeze Entertainment to host a variety of community engagement events. These initiatives bring residents together, foster connections, and celebrate the vibrant culture of Bedford-Stuyvesant.
By prioritizing equity, excellence, and holistic growth, Scott Patterson, Amerie Ryan, and their team create an environment where children can reach their full potential while building a brighter future for not only Bedford-Stuyvesant, but the entirety of North Brooklyn.
